Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule a photoshoot?

Simply fill out the form on our contact page. After we receive this we will email you back to schedule a free consultation phone call. We will discuss your vision and your pets, and answer any questions you may have. If you then decide you would like to work with us, we will choose a date and time for our session. In order to secure your chosen time, we require a $25 non-refundable retainer fee that goes towards the cost of your shoot.

Do I need to be in Indianapolis?

No! We have photographed pets as far away as Alabama, and we love to travel! Out-of-town shoots (more than 15 miles from our home base) do incur an additional fee for mileage and any overnight accommodations required, however.

I have more than one pet I’d like to get portraits of - how does that work?

We love big families! More than one pet is no problem at all. You are welcome to purchase up to two Welcome Packages or Premium Experiences (one pet per package) if you are a two pet household. For more than two pets, we do ask that you schedule a Custom Photoshoot in order to make sure that we have enough time to accommodate everyone!

How many pets can you take pictures of at once?

We strive to showcase each pet and their unique personality. In order to do that, we feel that it is best to only photograph one pet at a time.

What should I expect during our session?

At Wishbone Pet Photography, we want your pets to be as comfortable as possible. We have found that our clients shine their brightest in a familiar, safe environment. Because of that, we come to you!

Our sessions start by setting up our backdrops and lighting in whatever space in your home you think would work best. This typically takes around 30 minutes, comes at no additional cost to you, and does not take away from photo time. Our set up time also allows the animals time to meet us and get used to our presence, allowing for more authentic and relaxed portraits.

After set up is complete, we will begin the session. We take as many breaks as the animals need, doing our best to make sure they are not stressed or upset at any point during the process. This is all about them!

For our pet parents, we ask that only one human remains in the room in order to minimize distractions. You also might be asked to assist in any “sits” and “stays” that are necessary.

How long does it take to get my pictures?

Turnaround time for our images is typically 2-3 weeks from shoot date.
